Laura Escobar Hergenhan, RN, Nurse Coordinator

Laura has been practicing nursing for 44 years. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing and attended Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York. She is a Certified Instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is certified in Anticoagulation Management. She previously worked at The Brooklyn Hospital in New York, The New York State Narcotic Commission, Lahey Clinic in Brookline, MA and St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.  Laura has a long history of community involvement ranging from educator in Colonial history for Fairhaven Schools, Church involvement, Girl Scout Coordinator, Cancer Society Fundraiser, and Speaker for area high schools on alcohol related accidents.  She has received awards from the Massachusetts Educators Association and has been awarded Nurse of the Year at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. Her interests include adult cardiology, preventative health care, patient advocacy, cancer prevention, history and gardening. She is fluent in Portuguese. Laura is married and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
