An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), is an easy and fast test to evaluate the heart. It records the heart's electrical activity by simply placing small, plastic patches called electrodes on the arms, legs and chest. The electrodes are then connected to an ECG machine. The electrical activity of each heart beat is converted into waves. These waves are measured, recorded and interpreted by the doctor.
